Description

Empire style clock with a cuboid base, supported by four flattened balls, with oblique carving. From the front, on a base that is wider at the bottom with an engraved step, an appliqué with a woman’s head in the middle. The clock mechanism is placed in a box with a decoration of a lying lamb at the bottom, a bucket and a nest with chicks on the roof. On the right side, a fully plastic figure of a barefoot woman in a dress, with her hair tied in a bun, holding a flower and a wreath in her hands. On the left side, a wreath on a pole and a basket full of fruit.
Enamelled clock face, with Roman hour numerals. At the bottom there is an inscription “Chopin Tibyt in Paris”. Spring-loaded mechanism, with hour and half-hour striking system, in working order, after a watchmaker’s inspection, original key.
Chiseled bronze, France, second half of the 19th century.
