Description
Large court scene, depicting a figure of a knight standing in ceremonial attire, with a chalice in his right hand, a hat with feathers on his head and a sword at his side, hanging from his belt. Next to it, on the left, there is a figure of a beautiful lady sitting at a table, also dressed in an elegant outfit.
Mixed technique on paper pasted on canvas, signed on the left “Otto Bache”.
Otto Bache – born August 21, 1839 in Roskilde, died June 28, 1927 in Copenhagen – Danish realist painter. At the age of eleven he received a dispensation and was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, studying under Wilhelm Marstrand among others.
