Description
A Dresden-style desk with a top section, straight sides and a curved front, supported by four cabriole legs, decorated with openwork brass appliqués on both fronts. The top section has a wavy frame and four drawers, two on each side, closed in the center by a pair of curved doors with a lock and key. At the bottom are two drawers on each side with a rounded face, brass drawer pulls and a recessed steel lock, and one drawer with a concave front in the center. A pull-out sub-top, upholstered in dark green leather, extends beneath the main tabletop.
Construction: pine, oak, and walnut, veneered with walnut, brass, c. 1900.
The piece is in good condition, with a re-veneered top.
