Description
A jug with a lid, decorated with “Indische blumen” motifs. The base is circular, with a strongly bulging belly and a wavy structure, a handle on one side, and a slender spout on the other. The top has a button-shaped lid with a small hole for steam release. The entire piece is painted with floral motifs combined with leaves, and also with geometric patterns on the top.
Marked underglaze with cobalt in the shape of two intersecting swords. This mark of the Meissen manufactory was used between 1763-1773.
The jug is in very good condition, with a repaired spout.
