An Italian Renaissance style chair

Description
An Italian Renaissance style chair with simple seat and backrest leaning back, supported on four turned and carved legs ending in a flattened ball with foot. The whole structure is richly decorated with bone inlay depicting floral vines, pegasus, dragon heads and busts of women with wings on the backrest in four fields on the perimeter. In the central circular field there is a flower cup and mascarons. On the top of the backrest two, and on the seat four bones representing Diana, a horse and an owl. The seat itself richly inlaid also with bone, interlaced with twigs and flowers, a vase and patterns identical with those on the backrest. Similar decoration on the turned and carved legs joined together with an H-shaped link. Additionally slightly tilted backrest carved with flowers and a subtle shell in the finial.
Constructed of coniferous wood, veneered with ebony, woodcarving, marquetry of bone, 2nd half of 19th century.
