Description
Figural group of two naked boys and a goat, placed on an oval, delicately gilded base, decorated with buttons and grooves. Putta clothed only at the waist through tendrils of grapes with small fruits. The putta are trying to force the goat to march. One holds the animal by its horns, while the other pushes it from behind. The hair on their heads is lush and curly, while Putt’s faces are smiling, despite their efforts.
Figure after Pietro Balestra (1672-1729) signed “Balestra” on base and model number “1479” and numeral “2”.
