Description

A clock with a console in the Boulle style, set on four S-shaped legs decorated with leaves, closed from the front by a glazed door, rounded at the top, locked with a key, with glazed sides edged with a brass strip. The entire surface of the box structure is covered with tortoiseshell marquetry and brass sheet, presenting plant patterns and numerous bronze applications in the form of acanthus leaves. On the door, a chiseled application in the form of a putto girded with a sash and a basket with flowers in his hand. The rear door and the floor in the box are also decorated with brass sheet. In the finial on the roof, a cupid sitting on a ball, with one hand raised upwards, where he directs his gaze, made of polished bronze. Original console, also decorated with tortoiseshell and brass sheet, with plant and bronze applications on the front, on the sides, a strip in the finial and a pine cone at the bottom. Clock face with porcelain plaques with Roman numerals for hours and minute numerals engraved on the perimeter. Spring-loaded mechanism, with a system for striking hours and half-hours, with a steel bell bowl and engraved pendulum, after a watchmaker’s review.
