Description
A large, porcelain figure of a boy with a jug placed on a round base decorated with gilded patterns, with a rocky dais on which a jug from which water flows is supported. The boy himself, girded only with a fluttering pink sash, with lush hair and a smile on his lips, and next to him at the base a wild duck and a green plant resembling aloe vera.
Signed on the underside in cobalt “R 1762” probably Volkstedt, Rudolstadt in Thuringia, late 19th century.
