Description
A pair of Napoleon III type chairs of bentwood construction, with an upholstered seat, gently wider at the front, laid on straps with sponge and fabric on top. The whole is supported on four legs, cabriole front legs with a delicate foot at the bottom, joined together by an ornate slat on the front and double balusters on the sides. The backrest slightly tilted back, profiled, with an openwork design in the middle. All the elements very richly decorated with mother-of-pearl of various shapes, larger in the center of the backrest and covered with polychrome in the form of delicate floral patterns.
Leafwood construction, polychrome, mother-of-pearl, late 19th century.
Chairs stable, numerous losses of mother-of-pearl visible in photos.
