Description

Louis XVI style Display Cabinet, closed with one door, glazed on three sides, supported on four angular legs tapered downwards. The tablecloth is narrower at the front and wider at the back, and the sides of the furniture are concave. At the bottom, three panels inlaid in the form of plant tendrils placed in reserves, around the perimeter of which engraved brass strips are visible. The same strips appear around the windows, and on the top there are decorations in the form of openwork, intertwined twigs and flowers. Brass applications also on the front corners and on the legs. On the top there is an original, beveled marble top made of Breche d’Alep. Inside there are three shelves, two glass and one wooden, lined with fabric, just like the back of the furniture. The door has a steel lock with a key.

Breche D’Alep marble was first mined in France in 1712. It was the highest quality marble, used to decorate furniture and fireplaces in the 19th century. The quarries have been practically exhausted, so marbles of this type are currently quite rare.
The furniture is in very good condition.
