Description
Longcase Clock, in a rectangular cabinet, with a slightly wider base with an apron at the base and a hood glazed on the front with oval convex glass and closed by a door. The whole front surface is decorated with brass veins and two balls at the arched top. The mechanism is weighted, with an adjustable pendulum, hour markers, a seconds hand, a date stamp, a chime and a winding key. Round dial with blackened Roman numerals for hours and minutes and smaller scale for seconds and date. The clock mechanism is functional, striking the full hours always once.
Pine and mohogany construction, veneered with mahogany, brass mouldings and applications, first quarter of 19th century.
The movement is signed on the dial Colin Croll Perth.
