Description
Porcelain figurine depicts a putto with delicate, subtly modeled facial features, girded with a loose, decorative robe in shades of purple and violet. The figure, in a dynamic, charming pose, rests on a low, oval base molded to resemble lush greenery and rock, holding bundles of root vegetables (leaves and roots) in its hands.
The figurine is marked underglaze with cobalt in the shape of two intersecting swords with a star, the mark of the Meissen manufactory used between 1774 and 1817, a so-called Marcolini period mark. Also visible are the model number “25” and the number “51” impressed into the mass.
