Description
An inlaid chest of drawers in Louis XV style with turned up fronts and sides and a marble top delicately protruding beyond the edge of the piece. The set is supported on four sabre legs decorated with subtle bronze hardware along its entire length. The fronts of the drawers are decorated with intarsia in the form of intertwined floral motifs, as are the sides of the chest. At the lower rail there is a large bronze openwork application. On the sides there are two bronze pulls and in the middle there is a key and two keys. In the drawers, steel, overlay locks. On top the original beveled marble top with a small repaired defect on the back right side.
Pine and mahogany construction, veneered with rosewood, marquetry, bronze fittings, marble top, late 19th century.
