Description
A Rococo Chest of Drawers with splayed drawer fronts and sides, with marble top. The whole supported on four massive sabre legs, the front ones with additional veneer on the corners. The sides of the drawers are decorated with small inlaid rectangles forming larger rhombuses. On the sides of the drawers there are brass fittings in the form of intertwined stems with leaves, in the middle there is an openwork key and a key. Inside each drawer there is an overlay steel lock with a spring which causes the lock to close automatically and a steel cap which protects the top rail from damage.
Pine construction, veneered with walnut, marquetry, brass, 18th century.
The top is matched, traces of previous repairs.
