Description
A pair of Louis XVI-style wall sconces, consisting of a wall-mounted base in the form of interwoven acanthus leaves, to which the bust of a semi-nude woman is attached. Above, the woman holds a turned stem, from which branch two twisted arms, terminating at the bottom in swan heads. At the top, the stem merges into a chiseled base with a calamide and a socket containing a porcelain bulb socket, on which a small lampshade rests. All elements are engraved with meticulous attention to detail, gilded, and partially polished.
Gilded bronze, late 19th century.
Electrically functional.
